spring

I love spring. The air feels fresh and new and I can't believe it is just around the corner, literally. Last week I took tons of photos and many were things that define spring to me. When I first see the leaves on my willow tree it's like taking a deep breath of relief. Winter is nearly gone. For me, spring is growth, hope, joy, laughter, and warmth. What better way to see the beginning of this blessed season than with a cut daffodil from my son, my vegetable seedlings turning into plants, and a weeping willow that has turned green again.

school

We made maps of America with a flour/salt/water mixture. These might not look like maps but they are!! We're going to paint the parts we learn about next week. I added a picture of Frances just for good measure.

Bubbles and shadows

We love going to the local science museum. The bubbles are my favorite thing and the shadow section is the kids favorite! I thought the photos turned out pretty cool.
There is hardly any light at all in these two sections of the museum and I didn't have a tripod, so they are a little soft. But that really seems to add to the effect.

Friday night at our house

I am really loving this program that allows me to make collages. If there is anything that I love as much as photography, it is making collages. In high school, my bedroom walls were a collage- photographs, magazine cutouts, cutout words- just whatever inspired me. That carried over to my locker in college, my photography notebooks, bookshelves, and anywhere I could put things. Honestly, I miss making collages. They really tell a story or make a statement!
So this year, I am going to photograph my family's day to day life more frequently and I'm going to make a ton more collages!

Grocery Shopping

The kids and I had a great time at the grocery store today! Abigail checks off the list, Elijah loads up the buggy, and Frances... well, she just keeps us on our toes.
